Disciplines A mid-cap with no superior disciplines, having all in-clans and t .  His ability to wow you is severely limited by his lack of superiors.  Quickness becoming free in the latest release, does give him some mainstream combat abilities and, of course, he can always fire off a bleed for 3 or more.  Still, he's a little expensive for a grocery-getter.  His t could help in some designs that want equipment, giving you access to Magic of the Smith .  His discipline set would be much improved by becoming Anarch with access to Line Brawl and Dust Up .  His t offers real benefit there, allowing you to put CrimethInc. into play. Regina Blake We'll start with a new Toreador mid-cap. Disciplines First, thing she has no Celerity whatsoever.  I'm not sure that's problematic.  Toreador only really care about Celerity for Resist Earth's Grasp stealth or if they're a gun-combat deck.  More A for group 6 Toreador, which has been seriously lacking.  More R for the group, which seems highly focused on it already. Specials This could be an interesting special to build around.  There are a lot of locations that cost pool whose cost can be defrayed with her special.  She's Toreador so the Art Museum is an obvious choice to have in decks with her.  Creepshow Casino is another popular choice for Toreador decks.  Given her A , any of the media locations are al...

This series will review the new cards in the upcoming Fall of London set. Today, we'll go over the new Malkavians. Abraham Mellon An extremely solid vampire.  This guy is going to see a lot of play.  Along with Alexander Silverson , he will be the top of the Govern -chain for G6-7 crypts. Disciplines He has all of the in-clan disciplines at superior, plus f and t .  He'll be able to do what Malkavians have always been able to do well: bleed at stealth and bounce bleeds. The f , however, is particularly interesting.  As Abraham has easy access to stealth, you can expect his actions to succeed, which means that he can take additional actions using Freak Drive .  He's better off using equipment or No Trace for combat situations.  I don't really see other f cards getting a lot of play with him, except Daring the Dawn .  A splash copy for when you absolutely, positively need to get that action through.  Accep...

Thanks to BCP for allowing me to share these with you. Oskar Anasov Oskar was previewed by Black Chantry during the initial round of spoilers. Disciplines For an 8-capacity vampire, Oskar has a somewhat subpar discipline spread, having p and c instead of P .  As always O will allow Oskar to succeed at whatever actions he wants and I has perhaps the single best short-chain combat. How do p and c fit in then?  He has no current clanmates that have c (the new The Guardian below being the lone exception).  Were Oskar an Anarch, he could run a Dust Up combat package, ensuring both his survival in close combat and giving him the tools to hand out significant damage.  However, without changing sects, I fear we have little to do with these inferiors unless we pair him with Th...

Black Chantry is releasing a new set of demo decks, New Blood.  Like First Blood, there are five decks with the same clans as the Fifth Edition boxed set: Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, and Ventrue.  Let's take a look and see how the Ventrue deck measures up for new and established players alike. New Blood: Ventrue Black Chantry describes it as a "toolbox...capable of explosive turns." In a lot of ways, this deck will play like the classic Law Firm. Lots of actions and eventually something will slip through or possibly a lot of things. The lack of a political angle decreases this decks explosiveness. As a Demo of the Game As a demo of the game, this is going to be one of the harder decks to play properly. Turn ordering will be critical to achieve success. Another Week of Nightmares has come and gone.  As usual it was a blast to spend the week with good friends.  The attendance was higher this year, which is a good sign.  This is a recap of my experiences this year.  A little less detailed than last time, but hopefully you enjoy the review. Day 1: Week of Nightmares Event 1 As is tradition, the first event takes place outside of Columbus at Comic Shop Plus.  This is the venue that I normally travel to when playing in tournaments.  So, I am quite familiar with everyone.  The meta here has been greatly impacted by the V5A sets.  I had been holding off playing anything from them because I hate contesting.  However, I decided it was time to unveil my Banu Haqim breed-and-bleed deck. It was a nice mix of combat and survivability for the meta.  Being able to hit or bleed for a lot with Embraces changes the dynamics of the table.  In the final, my Embrace played and broke a Weighted Walking ...

New Blood: Nosferatu Black Chantry describes it as a "builds a strong defence with many animal helpers [that] slowly gnaws at its prey" This sounds like a typical Nosferatu build. Like most Nosferatu builds this deck is susceptible to trouble if the permanents don't get into play or are removed from play. Because the deck focuses on permanents, it will be slower to set up than decks using transients, making it weaker in the opening. but stronger in the endgame.
